Mamata Banerjee’s TMC workers will take to the streets in Bengal, know the reason

Trinamool Congress on Tuesday announced taking to the streets against the “bulldozer culture” of the newly elected Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in West Bengal and the alleged forced removal of hawkers from railway land and areas around stations.

Trinamool workers will protest near Howrah, Sealdah and Ballygunge railway stations on May 21. Re-polling is to be held in Falta assembly constituency on the same day.

The decision to protest against BJP’s “bulldozer politics” and the eviction drive in the station premises was taken at a meeting of Trinamool MLAs in Kalighat, which was also attended by former chief minister and party supremo Mamata Banerjee.

Mamta launched a scathing attack on the BJP government regarding the ongoing bulldozer action and anti-encroachment campaigns in the state.

He said, “The shops of small vendors are being demolished with bulldozers. This government is making a mockery of our constitutional ideals and values.
