West Bengal Assembly Election 2026: After the first phase of voting in West Bengal, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government is going to be formed in West Bengal. During the press conference in Kolkata, Amit Shah said that out of 152 seats, BJP will win more than 110 seats.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah told in the press conference that the Bengal team of BJP has made its assessment. Based on this they can say that out of 152 seats, BJP is likely to win more than 110 seats. He said that keeping the second phase also in mind, BJP is going to form the government in Bengal. He also said that the CM of Bengal will not be an outsider. He will be born in Bengal, educated in Bengali medium and will be Bengali speaking.

Voters broke records in Bengal elections

Regarding the record voting in Bengal, Amit Shah said that the people of Bengal have voted for change in Bengal with unprecedented enthusiasm and zeal, breaking all the records of voting in the first phase of Bengal Assembly 2026 elections on Thursday. He said, the percentage of voting that has come out is going to boost the enthusiasm of the people who believe in democracy across the country. I would like to congratulate and thank all the voters of Bengal who voted in the first phase that you have started the journey from fear to trust very well and the voters of the second phase will also take the journey from fear to trust forward.

In a message to the people of Bengal, Amit Shah said, a large part of the country has joined the journey of developed India under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi. Your love, your enthusiasm and your trust for Narendra Modi ji is visible throughout the campaign. I believe that this trust will be converted into votes and will lead to BJP’s victory.

What did Amit Shah say about Mamata Banerjee?

Amit Shah also targeted West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee. He said, in a state where the Chief Minister says that there is no need for women to go out after 7 pm, she should not be in power. After the formation of the BJP government, a young girl will be able to ride her scooter without any hesitation even at 1 o’clock in the night and no criminal will have the courage to look at her with evil eyes. He further said, as a symbolic step, the mother of the victim of RG Kar and the victim of Sandeshkhali have been made candidates.
