One person died in the collapse of an under-construction building in G Block of Rohini Sector-16, Delhi. Information about the accident was received through PCR call at around 4:28 pm on Wednesday evening. As soon as the information was received, police, fire brigade and other agencies including DCP Rohini reached the spot. 42-year-old Ram Kishore was pulled out from the debris and declared dead by doctors at the hospital.
JCB machines and two hydra cranes used
35 year old laborer Ravi was taken out safely. It is feared that 4 to 5 workers including building owner Ram Dua are still trapped under the debris. Delhi Police, Fire, NDRF, MCD, Tata Power and ambulance teams are jointly carrying out relief operations. Private JCB machines and two hydra cranes were also deployed to remove the debris. The rescue team contacted a person trapped under the debris and provided him with water.
Oxygen delivered to person trapped in debris
Delhi Police ordered oxygen cylinders from a nearby hospital and delivered oxygen to the person trapped in the debris, which helped in saving his life. To avoid any problem in rescue at night, the police has also made arrangements for generators and lights at the spot. The surrounding buildings have been evacuated as a precaution.
