Together they had scored 109 runs in 8.2 overs, English was out after scoring 60 runs in 29 balls. Whereas Nicholas Puran flopped again, who could score only 16 runs.
Mitchell Marsh missed out on creating history
Mitchell Marsh had scored 90 runs against Chennai Super Kings in the last match. This time against Lucknow Super Giants he was run out on the score of 96. Marsh missed out on creating history for the second consecutive match. If Marsh had completed his century today, he would have become the first batsman in the history of IPL to have scored three centuries for Lucknow Super Giants. The record of most centuries for LSG is still in his name.
Captain Rishabh Pant also looked in touch, but was run out on the score of 35. A score of 230 runs seemed possible for Lucknow, but three wickets came in the last over and Joffra Archer gave only 5 runs in this over.
Lucknow Super Giants are already out of the race for the playoffs. On the other hand, if Rajasthan Royals want to go to the playoffs, they will have to win this match at any cost. If Rajasthan wants to go to the playoffs without any ifs and buts, then today it will have to chase the target of 222 runs given by Lucknow at any cost.
