The pace of voting seems to be increasing in the by-election being held on Bankipur assembly seat of Bihar. According to the Election Commission, till 1 pm, 20.01 percent voting has taken place on this seat. Earlier, there was 11.50 percent voting till 11 am and 4.61 percent voting till 9 am.

20 percent figure is very low

Even though the voting percentage has increased from morning to 1 o’clock, the voting figure of 20 percent as of 1 o’clock is very low. It also rained in many areas of Patna around 2 pm. It remains to be seen how much this affects voting. It is expected that the percentage of voting will increase by the evening.

Voters started arriving at the booth to vote since morning. Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader CP Thakur, his son and Nawada MP and BJP leader Vivek Thakur also voted along with other members of their family. Bihar government minister Ramkripal Yadav also came to vote. According to the Election Commission data, all 422 polling stations of this assembly constituency are located in urban areas.

Samrat Chaudhary appealed to vote

Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary has appealed to the people to vote. By sharing the post from his X handle, he appealed to the people to vote. BJP National President Nitin Naveen has also asked people to vote. To strengthen the resolve for a developed India, people have been appealed to exercise their franchise.

Nitin Naveen wrote on Twitter, “I appeal to all the voters of Bankipur, Manjalpur and Datia assembly constituencies, especially the youth and women, to vote in large numbers and make their invaluable contribution in strengthening the resolve for a developed India.”
