Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has given strict instructions to the officials regarding the re-examination of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). He has said that the examination to be held on June 21 should be conducted with complete transparency, security and smooth arrangements across the state, so that students do not have to face any kind of problem.
Let us tell you that the NEET exam held on May 3 was canceled after allegations of question paper leak. After this, the National Examination Agency has decided to conduct re-examination, which will be held on June 21. A large number of candidates are likely to appear in this examination.
During a meeting, Chief Minister Fadnavis said that maintaining fairness of the examination process is the primary responsibility of all concerned departments. He directed the officials that there should not be any laxity in the security arrangements at the examination centers and monitoring should be strengthened at every level.
He especially gave instructions to keep the system of CCTV cameras fully active at all the examination centres. Also laying emphasis on strengthening cyber security, he said that necessary steps should be taken in advance to prevent any kind of technical glitch or online irregularity.
The process should be strictly implemented
The Chief Minister said that the identity verification process of the candidates should be implemented with full strictness at the examination centres. Apart from this, instructions have also been given to ensure that the screening and admission process of the candidates is as per the prescribed rules. He said that to maintain the credibility of the examination, strict adherence to security standards is very important.
Fadnavis also advised officials to maintain effective communication with students, parents and the general public. He said that correct information related to the examination should be continuously shared using social media and other communication mediums. This will help in stopping rumors and misinformation.
Information management is important
The Chief Minister directed the officials to immediately refute any misleading news or rumor related to the examination. He said that misinformation can create unnecessary stress and confusion among students and their families, hence it is necessary to pay special attention to information management.
In the meeting, Fadnavis also asked to pay special focus on the examination centers of Pune and Latur. He told that every year a large number of students come to appear for NEET exam in both these areas. In such a situation, additional arrangements and monitoring should be ensured so that there is no chaos during the examination.

What did CM say?
The Chief Minister also said that availability of all necessary facilities should be ensured for the students. Adequate arrangements should be made for drinking water, seating arrangements, security, medical aid and other basic facilities at the examination centres, so that the candidates can take the examination without any hassle.
During the meeting, Director General of National Testing Agency (NTA) Abhishek Singh gave a detailed presentation on the preparations for the examination in Maharashtra. He shared information about the number of examination centers created in the state, security arrangements, facilities available and the action plan prepared for the smooth conduct of the examination.
