Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday (2 December 2025) announced a major relief for the families. He said that cooking gas priced at Rs 300 per cylinder will soon become a reality for lakhs of families in the state. In this initiative started with the aim of reducing the financial burden on low-income families, beneficiaries under Orunodoi Scheme and Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana will be given a subsidy of Rs 250 on LPG cylinder.

When is this scheme going to be implemented

This announcement is likely to provide relief to working people in rural and urban areas, who are dependent on subsidized cylinders for their daily cooking needs. Although the government has not yet announced the date of rollout, officials have said that methods are being finalized for its smooth implementation. It is expected that LPG distributors will be well informed about the subsidy system and the Social Welfare Department and Food and Civil Supplies Department will coordinate among themselves in identification of beneficiaries and distribution of subsidy. With this initiative, Assam has also joined those states which are trying to protect people from changes in gas prices by increasing LPG subsidy at the local level. This will further strengthen the government’s goal of ‘development for all’ and providing genuine benefits to the needy.

4-Important work related to tax

Tax and compliance month-

The last date for filing Form 3CEAA (Constituent Entity Report) is 30 November. This is also the last day for those submitting reports under Section 92E. The deadline for filing ITR for the concerned taxpayers is also 30th November. Keep your tax papers warm before the December cold sets in.

5-PNG and CNG prices

Like every month, new prices of PNG-CNG and jet fuel will be applicable from December 1. Based on the amendments of oil companies, changes may be seen here also.

To file a complaint online, you have to fill some basic information. This includes your LPG ID, registered mobile number or customer ID. This information is therefore important. So that the company can recognize that you are really its consumer and are complaining on the correct connection. After this you have to give information about your complaint.

1-Credit Card Bill Payment

A new rule has been implemented by the RBI regarding the credit card. After this, there has been a change in some rules of all private and public sector banks from today i.e. July 1. Now all credit card holders will have to pay through Bharat Bill Payment System. Since then, platforms like Bildesk, Infibeim Avenue, Cred and PhonePe will be affected.

2-Rules for New PAN card

3-Commercial cylinder price reduction

Whereas after an increase of 7.52 percent in Kolkata, its new rate has increased to Rs 92,526.09 and after 7.66 percent increase in Mumbai, the new rate has increased to Rs 5,946.5 and Chennai has increased to Rs 6,602.49 kg after the increase of 7.67 percent in Chennai.

Lpg cylinder price: The first date of June has brought news of relief for small and big restaurants, dhabas and hotels of the country. Oil companies have reduced the price of commercial LPG gas cylinder by Rs 24. Now a 19 kg commercial cylinder will be available in Delhi for Rs 1,723.50. These new prices will be applicable from June 1.

Commercial cylinders become cheaper for the second consecutive month

This is the second consecutive month when the price of commercial cylinders has been cut. Even in early May, companies cut Rs 14.50 per cylinder. This will directly affect services like hotel, restaurant and food industry, where this gas is used extensively.

Relief for aviation sector

Not only commercial gas, but the aviation turbine fuel (ATF) used for air flights has become cheaper. Its price has been reduced by Rs 4.4 per cent i.e. Rs 3,954.38 per kiloliter. Now the new price of ATF has increased to Rs 85,486.80 per kiloliter. This is a big relief for airlines like Air India and IndiGo, as 30 percent of their expenses are fuel.

ATF cheaper for the third consecutive time

This is the third consecutive cut in the prices of ATF. Earlier, on 1 April, there was a huge decline of Rs 5,870 per kiloliter. Earlier, at the beginning of the year, the prices of fuel increased, but now this continuous cuts are balanced them.

Why are the prices decreasing?

The biggest reason behind all these cuttings is the fall in the prices of global crude oil. In the international market, the price of Brent crude has reached close to $ 63 per barrel, which is the lowest since April 2021.

According to the IANS report, Saudi Arabia, the world’s largest oil -producing country, has indicated that it will not cut any more and is ready for a long time of low prices. This can also weaken the power of OPEC.

India will directly benefit

India imports about 85 percent of its needs. In such a situation, when the prices of global oil fall, India’s import bill is less. This reduces the current account deficit and strengthens the rupee. Not only this, due to the fall in oil prices, domestic prices of things like petrol, diesel and ATF also start to decrease, which also controls inflation.

Government increased excise duty, but no effect on general public

Recently, the government imposed extra excise duty on petrol and diesel. But this did not shock the common man, because government oil companies, Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum have decided to face it themselves. Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that due to the falling prices of global crude, companies can bear this burden.

CNG-LPG and ATF Prices

From 1 April 2025, a new rule related to UPI will be applicable. The mobile numbers with which the UPI accounts are not being used for a long time, the bank will remove them from their records. If your mobile number is connected to an UPI app and you have not used it for a long time, then your UPI services can be stopped.

Unified pension scheme started

Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) is going to start from April 1, which will give guaranteed pension to central employees. Central government employees can apply online for this scheme from 1 April. If an employee wants to take pension under UPS, then he will have to apply by filling the form and if someone does not want to choose UPS, then he can take the option of NPS (National Pension Scheme).

23 lakh central employees will have to choose an option from UPS or NPS. The government will contribute 8.5 percent of the basic salary and dearness allowance of employees choosing UPS. Under this scheme, the minimum pension will be Rs 10,000 per month, but for this at least 10 years job will have to be completed.

New tax scheme implemented

New tax rules will be applicable from 1 April 2025. The government had made several major changes to give relief to the middle class in the budget 2025. A new income tax bill will be brought instead of the Old Income Tax Act 1961, no tax will be paid on the annual income of up to Rs 12 lakh, employees getting salary can take advantage of standard deduction of Rs 75,000 and i.e. salary up to Rs 12.75 lakh can be tax-free. But this discount will be available only to those who will choose a new tax system.

Changes in TDS Rules

From April 1, 2025, the TDS rules will be changed such as the limit has been increased to reduce unnecessary tax deduction and improve cash flow of taxpayers, the limit of TDS on interest income for senior citizens has increased to Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1 lakh, which will give them more financial security and the limit of rebate has been reduced annually, which will reduce landlord’s market and strengthen the market.

Change in credit card rules

Rewards and other facilities will change. The swiggy reward on SBI Simply Click card will be reduced from 5 times to half, the points of Air India signature card will be reduced from 30 to 10, IDFC First Bank will close the benefits of its club Vistara Milestone.

Minimum balance rules change

From 1 April 2025, SBI, PNB and other banks are going to change the rules related to the minimum balance of savings account. Under the new rules, a new minimum balance limit will be set for different areas. If there is no minimum amount fixed in an account, then the bank can impose fine. Therefore, account holders will have to understand the new rules of their bank and maintain the necessary balance.

Debit card new rules

From 1 April 2025, new benefits will be added to Rupay Debit Select Card. This includes facilities related to fitness, travel, entertainment and health. Under the new update, you will be able to use domestic airport lounge once in every quarter, you will get the facility of International Airport Lounge Visit twice a year, an insurance cover of up to Rs 10 lakh will be available for death or permanent disability in an accident and free gym member will be available once every quarter. These changes are being made to provide more facilities to the card holders.

Increase in toll tax

From 1 April 2025, toll tax on the National Highway is going to be expensive. NHAI has ordered to implement new rates on different toll plazas, which can make highway travel expensive. According to reports, toll for light vehicles on the highway passing through Lucknow can increase by Rs 5 and for heavy vehicles to Rs 20-25. New rates will be implemented on busy highways like Lucknow-Kanpur, Ayodhya, Rae Bareli and Barabanki. Apart from this, passengers may have to pay more tolls on Delhi-Meerut Expressway, Eastern Peripheral Expressway and NH-9.
