Mumbai Water Metro Project: If you are also a resident of Mumbai, then this news is very important for you. Actually, the Maharashtra government is preparing a special scheme to provide relief from the increasing traffic in Mumbai and its surrounding cities. The government will build the world’s largest water metro network, which will cost about Rs 6,066 crore. Its main objective is to reduce the increasing pressure on roads and railways. Along with this, the aim is to make travel faster and promote environment-friendly public transport.

Under this scheme, hundreds of kilometers long waterway network will be built. Apart from this, electric-hybrid boats will be run and a modern boat making center will also be established in Sindhudurg. The government says that under this scheme, crores of passengers will get direct benefits in the coming years.

What will be special?

The project will be developed at a cost of Rs 6,066 crore.

340 kilometer long water metro network will be ready.

A total of 33 waterways and 44 modern terminals will be built.

203 electric-hybrid boats will be run for passengers.

When completed, it will be the world’s largest water metro network.

Mutual Fund SIP: Profit up to 83% in 1 year! Huge returns in foreign markets, Indian investors’ luck shines in these countries

Crores of passengers will benefit by 2031

Maharashtra’s aim is that by the year 2031, about 7.5 crore passengers can benefit from this service. According to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the solution to Mumbai’s traffic problem is not possible just by increasing the road and rail network. This is the reason why transportation is also being made an important part of the city’s public transportation system. Apart from this, pod taxi service is also expected to be started in Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC).

Where will the modern boat manufacturing center be built?

An agreement has been signed between Maharashtra Maritime Board and Zoya Marine Services Private Limited for the Mumbai Water Metro Project. Under which, an electric boat manufacturing center will be built on about 22 acres of land in Sawantwadi taluka of Sindhudurg district at a cost of about Rs 150 crore. Electric and eco-friendly boats will be prepared for the water metro here.

40 year drought ends! India-New Zealand prepared ‘Vision 2030’, there will be trade worth Rs 35000 crore, what agreements were made?

Tax Report: Everyone knows that the expenditure on roads, hospitals, schools and other government facilities in a state depends on how much tax is being collected in that state. Recently, a report has come out regarding the financial condition of the states of the country, in which a huge difference has been seen. It has been seen in the report that some states are collecting good income from taxes, but there are some states which are still dependent on the tax share and financial assistance received from the central government.

Haryana is at the forefront

According to the data of financial year 2024-24, Haryana has been at the forefront in the matter of tax collection. According to the report, 73.23 percent of Haryana’s total income came from its own taxes. It clearly means that Haryana is raising a major part of its earnings on its own.

Why is pure petrol not available at the pumps? Government explained mathematics on E20, gave answers on price and old vehicles

Bihar is last

If we talk about Bihar, it is lagging behind in the matter of tax collection. Only 24.50 percent of the state’s total income came from its own taxes, due to which Bihar has to rely on financial assistance from the central government.

Earlier this state was at the forefront

Maharashtra was at the forefront in terms of tax from the financial year 2017 to 2020. But after 2020-21, now Haryana has left Maharashtra behind. The special thing is that from then till now Haryana is at the first position.

Apart from Haryana, these states also performed well

According to the report, in the last 10 years, these states have also earned good and strong income from taxes. These include…

Karnataka

Haryana

Tamil Nadu

Telangana

and maharashtra

Tax collection of these states was higher than other states.

The investigation has intensified in the case of Constable Kaustubh Sangle of State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) Group-16, Kolhapur, allegedly committing suicide with his service SLR rifle while on duty at Maharashtra Lok Bhavan located in Malabar Hill, high security area of Mumbai. In the initial investigation, police and SRPF are investigating many aspects.

According to the information, Kaustubh Sangle was an SRPF constable of the year 2024 batch. After completing his training, he was posted in Mumbai. He reached Mumbai on June 10 and was assigned duty at Maharashtra Lok Bhawan, which is considered a very sensitive and high security complex of the state government. DCP Ragasuda R said that he took this step due to some personal reasons. Police have found a suicide note from Kaustubh, we are investigating it.

Threat of torrential rain in Mumbai, afternoon holiday in schools and colleges; IMD issued red alert

Took suicidal step while on duty

According to sources, on Monday, Kaustubh’s duty was at Tower-2 of Lok Bhavan from 6 pm to 9 pm. In SRPF, security duty is changed every three hours. It is being told that while on duty he went to a roomy place and shot himself with his service SLR rifle. He died on the spot after being hit by a 7.62 mm SLR bullet.

At around 9 pm, when the soldier of the next shift arrived to relieve him, he saw blood and immediately informed the senior officers. After this there was a commotion in the Lok Bhavan premises. Malabar Hill Police and senior police officers reached the spot. Police seized the weapon and started forensic investigation.

Police also investigated love affair

According to sources, the angle of love affair has also come to light in the investigation. It is being told that Kaustubh had a love affair with a female police constable, who is posted in Mira-Bhayandar Police. There was a relationship between the two for a long time and there was talk of marriage.

However, later the female constable allegedly refused to marry. After this her family fixed her marriage with another police constable. Sources say that after this incident, Kaustubh started living under deep mental stress.

Sent pictures to the future groom

Sources related to the investigation claim that after the marriage of the woman constable was fixed, Kaustubh allegedly sent many personal photographs of himself with the woman to her future husband. Police are investigating what was the motive behind sending these pictures and whether it had created any dispute between the two parties.

Threatened to commit suicide several times

According to sources, Kaustubh had called the woman constable several times and threatened her to commit suicide. It is being told that the woman constable had already informed the Bhayandar Police in this regard that Kaustubh could take such a step.

Now the investigating agencies are finding out what action was taken after this information, whether senior officials were informed about it and whether counseling or other assistance was provided to him at any level.

Family life was also difficult

Kaustubh’s family circumstances have also come to light in the investigation. According to sources, his mother died when he was young. Later his father remarried. He had two sisters, one of whom had committed suicide several years ago, while the other was married. Police are also investigating whether family circumstances and recent events had any impact on his mental health.

Mental health assessment will also be examined

An important aspect of the investigation is also the internal process of SRPF. According to sources, the police and SRPF are finding out whether the mental health evaluation of the soldiers, which is done at scheduled intervals, was done on time for Kaustubh or not. Malabar Hill Police has informed SRPF officials about this matter. Police have registered accidental death (ADR) and started investigation.

The body of 26 year old Ketan Aggarwal was found in a 400 feet deep ditch of Lohagarh Fort in Pune. At first it was thought to be an accident, then it was revealed that his 20 year old fiancee Siya Goyal and lover Chetan Choudhary had pushed him together. The most surprising question raised was why Siya did not refuse marriage. Ketan’s father later said that if she had refused, the marriage would have been stopped, yet she plotted the murder. This is not just a case, but a pattern. Women like Sonam Raghuvanshi, Muskaan Rastogi, Shivani and Radhika are accused of murdering their husbands or fiancees…

NCRB data: 1 in 10 murders due to relationship disputes

Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary conspired to murder Ketan Aggarwal for four months. Police investigation revealed that between January and June 2026, both of them made 2,004 calls and talked for 238 hours. After three attempts, Ketan was killed. However, this is not the first case. According to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), of the 27,049 murders recorded across the country in 2024, 2,802 (about 10%) were related to love affairs or relationship disputes. This figure increased to 10-11% between 2016-2024. This means violence is increasing in relationships.

Interestingly, total murders declined by 2.4% in 2024, but the proportion of murders related to relationships increased. That means total murders are decreasing, but violence in relationships is increasing.

What do research reports say in this matter?

The reports from Australia and Turkey are shocking:

Australian Research (2010–2012)

Researchers at Queensland University of Technology studied 149 Australian murders. consequences:

40% of murders were committed due to jealousy.

23% of the murders were for insurance money or property.

There was no prior domestic violence in these cases.

Many women commit murder even without being victims of violence beforehand. Especially when they feel that they will not get anything in divorce.

Turkish study finds 24% women commit planned murder

Researchers from Ankara University studied 123 prisoners (73 women, 50 men):

82.19% women and 60.97% men were accused of murdering their partners.

24% of women committed murder with planning, while it was 7% among men.

The biggest reasons for murder among women were physical violence from the partner, jealousy and abandonment by the society.

The biggest reason for murder among men was physical violence with a partner.

Researchers found that women use violence against their partners to protect themselves from violence. Apart from this, according to Todd Shackleford, psychology professor at Oakland University of America:

The ratio of husband-wife murders in America is 50-50. This does not happen in any successful western country in the world.

In Europe, Asia and Africa, 80-90% of murders are committed by men.

When women hit their husbands, it is mostly in defense.

Women who commit murder are often isolated, economically dependent and not employed.

What do experts say on disputes in relationships?

Senior psychiatrist Dr. Pankaj says, ‘The girl is living a two-compartment life. What is going on in her mind is that she will not marry the boy, she wants to get him out of the way and go to her old lover. But she is showing something else to the society. When someone lives a double life for so long, his mind starts considering lies as truth.

According to psychiatrist Dr. Chaitanya Sheoran, ‘Marriage is still a social event, not a personal choice.’ People get married to cool the nerves of the family. When this pressure becomes too much, the person starts looking for some other way out. No matter how dangerous that path may be. Pretending to be innocent hours after a murder is part of a behavior disorder.

According to psychiatrist Dr. Anshu Kulkarni, ‘When a child grows up in a very strict environment, a deep fear of rejection by the parents develops in him. Where his opinion is never given importance.

Psychiatrist Dr. Deepak Raheja says that Siya was stuck between two completely different worlds. On one side ‘trophy relationship’ (marriage to a rich family), on the other side my real life.

Why is it easier to take life than saying ‘no’?

Experts give 4 big reasons:

Burden of ‘honor’: During police interrogation, Chetan revealed that Siya talked about running away, but refused. He was afraid that this would hurt his family’s honor.

Family pressure: According to NCRB, 76 murders took place in the name of ‘honour’ between 2020-2022. This means that every year about 25 people were killed just because they chose a relationship against the wishes of the family.

emotional detachment: According to Dr. Sheoran, ‘Thinking of pushing into a deep abyss is a disease for a normal mind.’

Easy way of conspiracy: 2,004 calls, 238 hours of conversation, sitting in a café and planning ‘Plan C’… this was not a hasty murder. This was a cold-blooded conspiracy.

So has modernization increased crime?

NCRB data clearly shows that the proportion of relationship-related murders increased from 7-8% in 2010-14 to 10-11% in 2016-24. But modernization has not increased crime, rather the methods of crime have changed.

In earlier times, girls did not have any choice. She used to get married forcibly. Now there are elections, but the social pressure is the same. Independence has been achieved, but the structure of society has not changed. When a person gets trapped in this conflict, he takes wrong steps.

Siya Goyal’s case is not just a murder case, but a mirror of our society. Where saying ‘no’ feels like losing respect, people can go to the extent of taking life. Where children do not have the freedom to express themselves, they grow up and learn to create conspiracies instead of speaking directly.

If we want to bring change, we have to start from home. Children have to be given the freedom to say ‘no’, because if they are not able to say ‘no’ at home, they may take steps like killing themselves outside.

BJP has continuously strengthened its hold in the country’s politics since forming the government at the Center under the leadership of Narendra Modi in 2014. During this period, the party not only achieved election victory, but also successfully executed the strategy of breaking the leaders, MLAs and MPs of other parties and joining them. This strategy is known in political circles as ‘Operation Lotus’. So let us also know how many MPs and MLAs have joined BJP in the last 12 years…

How many MLAs and MPs joined BJP in the last 12 years?

The biggest success of BJP after 2014 has been to increase its presence in the assemblies. According to the Times of India report, in 2014, BJP had a total of 1,035 MLAs across the country. This number continued to increase and by 2025 it would reach 1,654. That means the number of BJP MLAs has increased by about 600 in a decade.

BJP has made huge gains not only at the level of MLAs but also at the level of MPs. According to the report of the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR), 500 MPs and MLAs defected in the elections held between 2014 and 2021. BJP benefited the most from these. According to the report, during this period, 173 MPs and MLAs left other parties and joined BJP. At the same time, only 33 MPs-MLAs separated from BJP.

According to media reports, the most discussed figure of defection between 2022 and 2026 is that of 168 MPs and MLAs. Of these, 82 percent i.e. about 138 people joined BJP. This means that the destination of more than three out of every four defector leaders was BJP.

Which party suffered the most loss?

The ADR report clearly shows that Congress had to bear the biggest brunt of the defection. Between 2014 and 2021, 177 MPs and MLAs left Congress. Apart from this, 222 candidates also left Congress. Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) was at second place, whose 20 MPs-MLAs and 153 candidates left the party. Samajwadi Party (SP) lost 18 MPs-MLAs, while 26 MPs-MLAs defected from Trinamool Congress (TMC).

Congress suffered the biggest blow in the period from 2022 to 2026. Media reports show that 57 percent of those who joined BJP were earlier in Congress. That means out of 138 leaders who joined BJP, about 79 had left Congress. However, this figure is only part of a report. The whole picture is even bigger. According to BJP.ORG, by 2026, the total number of BJP MLAs across the country will reach 1,654, which was 1,364 in 2019. That means, BJP gained about 290 MLAs in just 7 years, which also includes the period 2022-2026.

According to prsindia.org, let’s look at some examples of major party defections in 2022-2026:

2022: In Maharashtra, about 40 Shiv Sena MLAs parted ways with Eknath Shinde and formed a BJP-supported government. 8 Congress MLAs joined BJP in Goa.

2023: After winning the assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, 10 BJP MPs resigned from their Lok Sabha seats.

2024: In Himachal Pradesh, 6 disqualified rebel Congress MLAs joined BJP.

2026: 7 Rajya Sabha MPs of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) joined BJP.

Where was ‘Operation Lotus’ conducted across the country?

The name of ‘Operation Lotus’ has been taken from BJP’s election symbol ‘Lotus’. This strategy started in Karnataka in 2008, but it intensified after 2014…

Karnataka (2019): Congress-JDS coalition government was formed in the 2018 assembly elections. In 2019, BJP toppled the government by removing many MLAs and made BS Yediyurappa the Chief Minister.

Madhya Pradesh (2020): Kamal Nath’s Congress government had to fall after the resignation of 22 MLAs. Most of these MLAs later joined BJP. Shivraj Singh Chauhan again took power.

Goa (2022): Out of 11 Congress MLAs, 8 joined BJP. Due to this, Congress almost got destroyed in Goa.

Maharashtra (2022): Eknath Shinde rebelled along with 40 Shiv Sena MLAs and formed the government with BJP. Uddhav Thackeray’s government fell.

Maharashtra (2023): Ajit Pawar rebelled in the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and joined the Shinde government.

Himachal Pradesh (2024): BJP tried to topple Congress’s Sukhwinder Sukhu government through Operation Lotus, when 6 Congress MLAs did cross-voting in the Rajya Sabha elections.

According to media reports and opposition parties, BJP has so far toppled governments in 6 states through ‘Operation Lotus’.

The biggest question is why did the situation change after Modi?

According to experts, before 2014, BJP was also a big party, but under the leadership of Modi, its political strength increased manifold. There are 5 big reasons behind this:

strong leadership: Narendra Modi’s popularity and focused leadership made BJP a ‘winning party’. Leaders started feeling that staying in BJP was politically safe and beneficial.

Organizational Strength: BJP’s organization became stronger under the leadership of Amit Shah. The party created a strong network in every state and adopted an effective strategy to woo the leaders of opposition parties.

Weakening of opposition: After the defeat in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Congress continued to weaken. Due to leadership crisis and internal strife, many leaders left Congress. At the same time, regional parties also could not stand in front of BJP.

Slogan of ‘Development’: The Modi government built a strong support base with slogans like ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ and ‘poverty alleviation’. This made the leaders feel that BJP’s policies are popular among the people.

Legal and Administrative Pressure: The action of agencies like Enforcement Directorate (ED) and CBI against many opposition leaders also encouraged defection. Many leaders joined BJP to avoid legal cases.

Current situation: NDA’s position in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha

By mid-2026, NDA’s position has become quite strong:

Lok Sabha: After 20 TMC MPs supported the NDA, the strength of the BJP-led NDA alliance has increased to 314. However, to pass the Constitution Amendment Bill, two-thirds majority (360 seats) is required in the Lok Sabha. NDA is 46 seats behind. NDA’s position may become stronger if DMK (22 MPs) exits the INDIA block. 6 MPs of Shiv Sena (UBT) faction have also said that they will leave the party and support NDA. That means now NDA will have 319 seats in the Lok Sabha.

Rajya Sabha: NDA has 148 MPs. After the upcoming elections and by-elections in West Bengal, this number may reach 155. The two-thirds majority figure in Rajya Sabha is 164. For this, NDA needs the support of parties like BJD (5 MPs) and YSR Congress (7 MPs).

Recently, 7 Rajya Sabha MPs of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have also merged with BJP. This has further increased the strength of BJP in Rajya Sabha.

The period between 2022 to 2026 was very beneficial for BJP in terms of defection. Congress was the biggest losing party of this period, while parties like Shiv Sena, TMC and AAP also suffered major setbacks. Under ‘Operation Lotus’, BJP not only weakened the opposition parties but also took its numerical strength to a record level.
