He said that in the last 48 hours, an increase of 6 to 8 degrees Celsius has been recorded in the maximum temperature, due to which the temperature has now reached close to normal.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), it is likely to turn into a severe cyclonic storm ‘Montha’ in the next 48 hours. This storm is currently centered about 620 km from Port Blair and 780 km south-east of Chennai. Due to Montha, there are chances of heavy to very heavy rains in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Tamil Nadu from 27 to 30 October.
