Karnataka Teacher Recruitment 2026: Many types of recruitment processes are started by the Central and State Government for government teachers. This time there is good news for the candidates preparing to become government teachers. Actually, the Karnataka government has approved the recruitment of 15,000 teachers in government, primary and high schools of the state. The state cabinet has cleared the way for the recruitment process by approving the Karnataka Education Services Special Rules for Recruitment to Certain Teaching Posts 2026.
Now the School Education and Literacy Department will soon issue a detailed notification of recruitment, after which the application process will be started. According to the state government, this recruitment is being done to fill the posts of teachers which have been lying vacant for a long time. The Education Department has been instructed to start the entire selection process as per the prescribed recruitment rules. The government says that till regular recruitment was done, the system was being run through guest teachers in schools, but now the process of permanent appointments will be started.
In which areas, how many posts will be recruited?
According to the sanctioned posts released by the government, 15,000 posts have been divided into two areas. Of these, 6,967 posts have been sanctioned for Kalyan Karnataka region and 8,033 posts have been sanctioned for non-Kalyan Karnataka region. Karnataka Welfare Sector posts include 3,328 posts of Graduate Primary Teacher, 2,214 posts of Assistant Master, 800 posts of Primary School Teacher, 425 posts of Physical Education Teacher and 300 posts of Computer Science Teacher. Whereas in the non-welfare Karnataka region, the posts include 5,272 posts of Graduate Primary Teacher, 2,286 posts of Assistant Master, 100 posts of Primary School Teacher, 175 posts of Physical Education Teacher, 200 posts of Computer Science Teacher.

Notification will be released soon
School Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa said that Karnataka has earlier worked on improving the teacher recruitment process and education system, due to which regular recruitment took some time. Now after getting the approval from the cabinet, the final recruitment information will be released soon and the process of selection of eligible candidates will start. He said that the department has been instructed to complete all the processes as per the prescribed recruitment rules, so that appointments can be made as soon as possible.
Till now the arrangement was running with guest teacher.
According to the government, in view of the shortage of teachers in many government schools of the state, guest teachers were appointed temporarily. However, this was only an interim arrangement. Now the vacant posts will be filled through the recruitment of regular teachers, so that the teaching system in government schools can be strengthened.
