Seoul has secured first place in the QS Best Student Cities Ranking 2027 with a perfect score of 100. Tokyo of Japan stood at second place and London of Britain stood at third place. Melbourne finished fourth while Munich and Sydney tied for fifth. Apart from this, Paris, Berlin, Vienna and Zurich are also included in the top-10.
Mumbai has performed the best among Indian cities. Mumbai jumped 7 places this year to reach 91st position and became India’s highest ranked student city. The city got good scores in terms of employment opportunities and affordable education. According to QS, Mumbai’s employer activity score remained strong, while the city also remained among the best cities in the world in terms of affordability.
This time the capital Delhi has improved from 104th position to 99th position. With this, Delhi made a place in the global top 100 student cities for the first time. The biggest achievement was that Delhi was declared the most affordable student city in the world.
According to QS, the average annual tuition fee for international students in Delhi is around US $ 2,700 i.e. around Rs 2.6 lakh. Apart from this, Delhi also got a good score in terms of employment opportunities and in this category the city stood at 29th position in the world.
This year, Bengaluru was the only city among Indian cities whose ranking declined. Bengaluru has slipped 6 places to joint 114th position. According to QS, one reason for this is the high tuition fees for international students here, which is approximately US $ 5,400 per year. Whereas Chennai has improved by five places and achieved 123rd QS rank.
Let us tell you that only those cities are included in the QS Best Student Cities ranking, whose population is more than 2.5 lakh and where at least two universities included in the QS World University Rankings are present. The final ranking is then prepared based on several factors including the quality of the university, employment opportunities, education and cost of living, attractiveness of the city, number of international students and student experience.
