The second ODI match between India and Afghanistan will be played on Wednesday, June 17 in Lucknow. By winning this match, Team India can take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the 3-match series. The first encounter took place in Dharamshala, where Team India won by 7 wickets in the rain-affected match.
In the first match, debutant Gurnoor Brar made a big contribution to Team India’s victory by taking 3 wickets. Whereas in batting, captain Shubhman Gill played the match-winning inning of 84 not out. Now Team India has reached Lucknow for the second ODI. Know here what major changes can be seen in the playing eleven of the Indian team for Lucknow ODI.
The Indian team has won the Test and seems to be in a position to win the ODI series as well. Therefore, one or two big changes can be seen in Team India in the second ODI. Let us tell you that only Yashasvi Jaiswal, Kuldeep Yadav and Prince Yadav are sitting on the bench.
Will Team India make changes?
Yashasvi Jaiswal has been waiting for his place in the ODI team for a long time. There were speculations that he might get a chance at number 3, but in the first ODI, Ishan Kishan batted at number three. Ishaan has impressed the team management in some way or the other by playing an inning of 34 runs. Jaiswal may have to sit on the bench once again. Kuldeep Yadav may also remain sitting out, because Harsh Dubey, who came as a left-arm spin bowling option, had taken three wickets in the first ODI. He may get a chance in the second ODI also.
Prince Yadav is that option, who is performing tremendously in domestic cricket and then in IPL 2026. But his debut can happen only if one of Gurnoor Brar, Prasidh Krishna and Arshdeep Singh is dropped.
India’s probable playing eleven: Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Washington Sundar, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Harsh Dubey, Gurnoor Brar, Arshdeep Singh, Prince Yadav
