Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has ordered immediate and thorough investigation into the criminal case registered against Bandi Bhagiratha, son of Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar. The Chief Minister gave this instruction to senior police officers on Thursday. He directed that a special investigation team should be formed without any delay to investigate the entire matter.
The Chief Minister also questioned Director General of Police Anjani Kumar about his inaction till now. He asked why no legal action was taken despite receiving the complaint on the 8th of this month. CM Revanth sought explanation for the delay in police action for the last several days. He made it clear that such negligence in sensitive matters will not be ignored.
Prisoner Bhagirath himself contacted the police
On the other hand, prisoner Bhagirath himself has contacted Karimnagar police. He lodged a formal complaint at the district police headquarters. In his complaint, Bhagirath alleged that an attempt was made to ‘honey-trap’ him. He claimed that some people tried to trap him by using unethical and illegal methods. He demanded that a case be registered against those responsible for this and a fair investigation be conducted.
These developments have created a political stir across Telangana. Opposition leaders have demanded a fair investigation. He has also questioned the timing of the complaint and the sudden attention being given to the matter. The police department has now started the preliminary procedures. Officials have confirmed that both complaints will be thoroughly investigated. He assured the public that no guilty person would be spared, irrespective of his status or position.
What did the Chief Minister’s Office say in the official statement
The Chief Minister’s Office issued an official statement saying that the state government is fully committed to the rule of law. The statement also said that any attempt to influence or hinder the investigation will not be tolerated at any level. This matter has now attracted the attention of the public and media. Many people are keeping a close eye on which direction the investigation progresses.
It may be reminded that detainee Sanjay is a prominent BJP leader from Telangana and a Union Minister. His son, Bhagiratha, has been in the news before. The police have not yet released any official timeline for the investigation. However, sources say that special teams have started collecting evidence and interrogating witnesses. After reports of inaction surfaced in the media, the Chief Minister took strong intervention. Due to this, the pressure on the police department to give quick and fair results has increased. Both sides have demanded justice. More details about this case and the police investigation will be revealed in the coming days.
