There is big news for the youth preparing for government jobs. Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has released the notification of 72nd Combined Competitive Examination 2026. Through this recruitment, eligible candidates will be selected on a total of 1230 posts. Interested candidates can apply online from May 7. Under this recruitment, many important administrative posts of Bihar government will be filled. This includes Sub Divisional Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Revenue Officer and other posts.
age limit
To apply for this recruitment, it is necessary for the candidate to be a graduate from a recognized university. That is, candidates graduated from BA, BSc, BCom or any subject can apply. However, for some special posts, a degree in related subjects like Commerce, Psychology, Law or Economics can be sought.
age limit
The age limit has been fixed according to different categories. The maximum age for male candidates of general category is 37 years, while for women candidates there is relaxation up to 40 years. The maximum age for OBC and EBC category candidates is 40 to 42 years. SC and ST category candidates have been given relaxation up to 42 years.
application fee
The application fee for this recruitment has been kept at Rs 100 per examination. If a candidate does not use Aadhaar card then he may have to pay additional biometric fee of Rs 200.

selection process
Selection in this recruitment will be done in three phases. First of all there will be preliminary examination (Prelims), in which objective questions will be asked. After this there will be Mains examination, which is in written form and is considered very important. Finally there will be an interview, in which the personality and confidence of the candidate will be assessed. The final selection will take place only after being successful in all three stages.
exam pattern
- There will be questions of 150 marks in Prelims exam and time will be 2 hours for this. Negative marking will also be applicable in this.
- Mains exam will consist of General Studies, Essay and an optional subject. This is a written examination and is most important in merit.
- The interview is of 120 marks, which is added to the final result.
How much salary will you get?
Under this recruitment, the selected candidates get a salary of Rs 61,500 to Rs 72,000 for Level 9 posts. Whereas Level 7 posts get a salary of more than Rs 59,000. Apart from this, DA, HRA and other government allowances are also given.
