Eknath Shinde has welcomed the spectacular victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party on the election results of West Bengal and Assam. On the victory in Bengal, he said, “BJP has achieved a historic victory in West Bengal. This is a huge blow to Mamata Banerjee. The people of Bengal have given Mamata Banerjee the brunt of defeat.” He also said that these results are a historic turning point for Indian politics.
Victory of development in West Bengal- Shinde
Eknath Shinde further said that development has won in West Bengal. He said, “For the first time, the lotus blossoming with full majority is a true victory of democracy. The public has completely rejected the hooliganism and corruption of the Mamata Banerjee-led government and voted in favor of development, stability and peace.”
‘The public fed us the stigma of defeat’
Shinde quipped that the people of Bengal have cheated Mamata Banerjee of defeat this time. He expressed confidence that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the double engine government in Bengal will now write a new chapter of development. He said that Bengal was very backward in development, now after the coming of BJP government, there will be development of the people there.

Apart from this, he said on the results of Assam that the lotus has bloomed in Assam for the third consecutive time. He has described these results as a historic turning point for Indian politics. Shinde has also congratulated Sunetra Pawar on her record victory.
