US Airstrikes on Iran: Once again the tension in West Asia has reached a dangerous point. The crisis over the ceasefire signed between America and Iran last month has deepened. On Tuesday, America started new military attacks against Iran, and also canceled important exemptions given for the international sale of Iranian oil. This action has been taken after the attacks on three commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
The US Military Command (CENTCOM) has accused Iran of violating the ceasefire and endangering regional security. At the same time, Iran has given a strong reaction calling the American action a violation of the ceasefire agreement.

American attack on Iran’s military bases
According to the US Military Command (CENTCOM), the army targeted Iran’s air defense systems, coastal surveillance centers, missile systems and drone launch sites. Iranian media has confirmed several explosions in Serik, Qeshm Island and Bandar Abbas.
The exemption to sell oil also ends
America has also withdrawn the permission given in June, under which Iran could sell crude oil and petrochemical products in the international market. Now Iran will have to stop all such deals by July 17. After this decision, the prices of crude oil across the world increased by more than three percent.
Tension increased due to attacks on ships
Qatar has alleged that three merchant ships including its LNG tanker Al Reqaiyat have been attacked. The drone attack caused a fire in the engine room of the tanker, although all the crew are safe. A Saudi oil tanker was also damaged near Oman. Iran says that it did not carry out any attack and is following the agreement.

Iran’s warning
Iran has expressed strong displeasure over this action of America. Iran’s Foreign Ministry said that America has violated the ceasefire agreement and if the situation remains like this, Iran will take every necessary step to protect its interests and security. US President Donald Trump said in clear words that either Iran makes an agreement, otherwise America will “complete its job.” In response, Iran also bluntly said that as long as America continues to threaten, talks on a permanent agreement will not move forward.
‘Trying to teach Iran a lesson’
According to CNN’s report, America’s current attacks are not just a retaliatory action, but their purpose is also to punish Iran severely. An American official said that this campaign will not last for a few hours, but if necessary, it can last for several days. The report said that America believes that Iran will have to pay a heavy price for the recent incidents. This is the reason why the military action this time may be bigger and more comprehensive than before.
Fear of Iran’s counterattack
According to CNN report, American officials fear that in the coming hours or days, Iran may target American military bases or American interests in the Gulf region. However, there has been no official confirmation of any retaliatory attack from Iran yet. This is only the assessment of US officials and the situation is constantly changing.
Trump gave approval during NATO conference
According to the report of American news website Axios, President Donald Trump approved retaliatory military action against Iran during the ongoing NATO summit in Turkey. The report said that Trump took this decision after a meeting with Foreign Minister Marco Rubio, Defense Minister Pete Hegseth and Finance Minister Scott Besant. American officials said that at present the impact of the first phase of attacks will be assessed. After that it will be decided whether further military action should be increased or not.
