UP Board Class 9 to 12 New Books Rate List 2026 : Big news has come for lakhs of students and their parents studying in Uttar Pradesh. It was often complained that students in schools are forced to buy expensive and unrecognized books. Due to this, the cost of education increased significantly and was a financial burden on many families. To end this problem, UP Board has now taken strict steps. For the new academic year 2026-27, the Board has given clear instructions that now all the schools of the state, whether government, aided or private, will provide education only from recognized books.
The board has also released the subject wise rate list of books from class 9 to 12. Now only those books will be taught in all schools which have been decided by the board. If any school sells expensive books from unauthorized or private publishers, strict action will be taken against it.
What changes took place in which classes?
UP Board has made prescribed books of English, Mathematics and Science mandatory for classes 9 and 10. Whereas in classes 11 and 12, recognized books of total 36 subjects have been implemented. Apart from this, about 70 NCERT books have been implemented in the entire state. Besides, 12 selected books of Hindi, Sanskrit and Urdu have also been included.
At what price will students get books?
The board has also ensured that all students get books at affordable prices. For this, the work of printing and distribution of books has been given to only 3 recognized agencies. This will keep the prices of books under control and there will be no arbitrariness in the market. Along with this, book awareness camps will be organized in schools to provide correct information to students and parents. It will be told which books are recognized and where they should be purchased.

Rate list of new books for class 9 to 12
1. Class 9 Books Rate List – Books for main subjects of class 9 have been kept quite cheap. Beehive book of English will be available in only Rs 28, while Maths will be available in Rs 53 and Science in Rs 57. Social science books are in different parts, priced between Rs 20 to Rs 38. Whereas Hindi book will be available for Rs 79, which is still considered quite affordable.
2. Rate list of class 10 books – The prices of books for class 10 students have also been kept under control. English books will be available between 21 to 49. Will be available in Math 67 and Science 78. The price of social science books has been fixed between Rs 31 to Rs 46. Hindi book will be given in 43, so that there will be no additional financial burden on the students.
3. Rate list of class 11 books – The price of class 11 books has also been decided according to the subject. English books will be available between 17 to 28. For science stream students, the books of Physics, Chemistry and Biology range from 38 to 87. Mathematics book will be available in 87. Apart from this, the price of books of other subjects has been kept between Rs 30 to Rs 72, which can be considered balanced for the students.
4. Rate list of class 12 books – The prices of books for class 12 have also been kept affordable. English books will be available between 19 to 26. The price of books for science subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology ranges from Rs 44 to Rs 73. Mathematics books having two parts will be available at Rs 50-50. Whereas the price of books of other subjects has been fixed between Rs 22 to Rs 52, so that studies can be made easier for all categories of students.
