Differences still remain between America and Iran. These days there was a lot of discussion about extending the ceasefire, although US President Donald Trump is constantly trying to put pressure on Iran. On one hand America is negotiating an agreement with Iran and on the other hand it is also taking action regarding the Strait of Hormuz. Trump is currently cornering Iran in three ways and he is also using Pakistan very well for this.
Foreign affairs expert Robindar Sachdev has given an important reaction on the America-Iran issue. He says that President Trump appears to be in ‘three-way attack’ mode at this time. He said, on one hand they are pretending to negotiate with Iran by making Pakistan a middleman, while on the other hand they are suffocating Iran by blocking the ‘Strait of Hormuz’. On the third hand, Russia has made preparations for economic bombing on those who buy oil from Iran.
Pakistani delegation on Iran tour
Pakistani delegation is currently in Iran. Pakistan’s Field Marshal Asim Munir met Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf. Asim Munir also had a meeting with the Iranian Foreign Minister and other leaders on Wednesday (April 15). Actually, Pakistan is continuously trying for reconciliation between America and Iran, but till now the matter has not been completely resolved. Interestingly, Asim Munir was in military uniform when he landed at Tehran airport, but when he met the Iranian Foreign Minister and other leaders yesterday, he was in coat and pants.
Things did not work out in Islamabad, what next?
The delegations of America and Iran talked about the agreement in Islamabad. Trump had said after this meeting that consensus was reached on most of the issues, but the issue of nuclear weapons could not be resolved. Iran is adamant on the issue of uranium enrichment. This is what is bothering Trump. He had threatened Iran several times during the Islamabad talks. Trump had said that Iran will never have nuclear weapons.
When talks did not work out in Islamabad, the Pakistani delegation reached Iran. Now it is being claimed that talks can take place once again between America and Iran.
