An important proposal has received support regarding the contribution of the Hindu community in America and the increasing incidents of hatred against them. Well-known American MP and Congressman of Indian origin Ro Khanna has supported a proposal presented in the House of Representatives.
This proposal has been brought to honor the contribution of the Hindu-American community in America’s economy, society, science, education, medicine and other fields. Along with this, the resolution has condemned Hinduphobia, anti-Hindu bigotry and attacks on places of worship of the Hindu community.

Work of Indian origin MP Shri Thanedar
This proposal was presented by Shri Thanedar, an Indian-origin MP of the Democratic Party from Michigan. Ro Khanna supported this proposal on Monday and described the contribution of the Hindu-American community as important. This proposal was first presented on 24 January 2025. After this it has been receiving continuous support. So far this proposal has received the support of 32 MPs. Co-sponsors of the resolution also include Indian-origin MPs like Raja Krishnamurthy and Suhas Subramaniam.
Important role in America’s development
The resolution states that the Hindu-American community has played an important role in the development of America and has made a major contribution to the economic and social progress of the country. It has also been said that hatred and discrimination against any religion or community cannot be accepted. This proposal is being considered an important step for the Hindu-American community, because through it, along with formally recognizing their contribution, concern has also been raised over the incidents of hatred and violence against the Hindu community.
