Vaibhav Suryavanshi made a splash in IPL 2026 with his record batting, but this 15-year-old batting sensation says that he has adapted his batting style according to the match conditions, has learned to remain calm under pressure and also worked on his fitness to avoid injury.
However, his team Rajasthan Royals could not make it to the finals after losing to Gujarat Titans, who later became runners-up in Qualifier 2. But this left-handed batsman was chosen as the ‘Most Valuable Player’ of the tournament. Suryavanshi topped the batting list by scoring 776 runs in 16 innings at an average of 48.50 and an excellent strike rate of 237.30. He has also scored one century and five half-centuries.
Receiving his award after the final here on Sunday, the 15-year-old player said, “This season I learned how to play in pressure matches, how to build my game. ”

He said, “You can’t play every match the same way. You will have to understand the game situation and play according to the needs of the team. I got to learn a lot of this in the playoff matches also. ”
Suryavanshi broke the previous IPL record of most sixes (59) in a season held by West Indies’ Chris Gayle. He hit 72 sixes in IPL 2026. He said, “I just try to trust my game and if I feel like I can make a shot on the ball, I go all out and try to play that way.” ”
Suryavanshi missed scoring the fastest half-century in IPL history by just one ball. He said that he will have to focus on his fitness. He said, “I want to play for a long time and I have to work on my fitness and focus on it.”
