Earlier, Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif had also clarified that Pakistan is not in favor of normalizing relations with Israel. He said that Pakistan will not recognize Israel until an independent Palestinian state is established with East Jerusalem as its capital on the basis of 1967 borders. He also expressed distrust in Israel and termed any agreement with it as against the country’s ideology.

On the other hand, US President Donald Trump has said that the ongoing peace talks to end the war with Iran are progressing “well”, although the final decision may take time. According to US officials, Iran is using complex communication systems to consult its supreme leader, due to which the negotiation process may be slow.

Trump also said in his post on ‘Truth Social’ that the countries who are mediating this peace talks should sign the Abraham Accords. This agreement is related to normalizing diplomatic, economic and security relations between Israel and Arab countries.

He also said that it would be “a matter of honor” for Iran to sign this agreement. According to Trump, after efforts by the US to resolve this complex issue, the countries concerned should at least join this agreement, although he also acknowledged that some countries may have their own reasons for staying away from it. It is noteworthy that the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain have already signed this agreement, while Trump wants Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt and Jordan to also join it.
