Electric mobility is increasing rapidly in India and now another big name is going to join this field. Vietnam’s automobile company VinFast is preparing to launch its new electric taxi service in India, which is named Green SM. This service will be started especially from Delhi-NCR and later it can be extended to other cities also. Its objective is to create an eco-friendly and completely electric taxi network in India.

Under this scheme, the company will launch a large number of electric taxis on the road. There is a plan to create a fleet of about 15,000 electric taxis. VinFast’s electric cars will mainly be used in these taxis. These vehicles have been specially designed for ride-hailing and taxi services, so that longer distances can be covered at lower cost and passengers can have a comfortable journey.

How much will be the fare per kilometer?

The most special thing about this service is its fare model. According to reports, a fare of around Rs 8 per kilometer can be charged from passengers. Its direct benefit will be to those people who use cabs daily, especially those going to office and traveling in the city. Green SM is not just a taxi service, but part of a larger strategy of VinFast. The company wants to give its electric cars a strong identity in the Indian market through this platform.

These electric cars will be eco-friendly

Another aspect of this project is that it will be completely electric, that is, petrol or diesel will not be used in it. This will help in reducing pollution and can also contribute in improving air quality in cities like Delhi. The Indian government is also emphasizing on promoting electric vehicles and green mobility, so such services are going to be very useful in the future.

The company also plans to run this service as a fleet model rather than limiting it to just app-based taxis. This means that the company will have direct control over drivers, vehicles and service quality, so that the service can be made consistent and better.
