Before the IPL 2026 auction, Chennai Super Kings have released a total of 9 players, while retaining 16 players. CSK has also retained four foreign players in the form of Dewald Brewis, Jamie Overton, Noor Ahmed and Nathan Ellis. The most shocking news is that Chennai Super Kings have released Mathisha Pathirana and Rachin Ravindra.

CSK had already traded 2 all-rounder players in the form of Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran to Rajasthan Royals. Sanju Samson has come to Chennai Super Kings in place of both of them. Chennai Super Kings currently has 16 players in their squad and would like to fill the remaining 9 slots in the auction.

CSK released these players: Rahul Tripathi, Deepak Hooda, Vansh Bedi, Andre Siddharth, Sheikh Rashid, Rachin Ravindra, Vijay Shankar, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Mathisha Pathirana.

43.4 crores left in CSK’s purse

There are now 16 players in the squad of Chennai Super Kings. In the auction, CSK team will be able to bid on maximum 9 players, for which it has a purse of Rs 43.4 crore left. Let us tell you that out of the remaining 9 players, 4 players should be foreigners.

The performance of Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2025 was very disappointing. In the entire season, the team could win only 4 out of 14 matches and remained at the bottom position in the table.
