Jeffrey Epstein Case: Trump signs bill to release Epstein files, orders DOJ to make documents public in 30 days

US President Donald Trump has signed the bill to release files related to the investigation of Jeffrey Epstein. Trump gave this information late in the evening on Wednesday (19 November 2025). Congress had passed this bill earlier. Under this, the Department of Justice will have to release all the information obtained from its investigation into the wrongdoings of sex offender Jeffrey Epstein in a searchable and downloadable format within 30 days. However, initially Trump had openly opposed it.

Jeffrey Epstein was a convicted sex offender who died in federal custody in 2019. Earlier on Tuesday, the US House of Representatives voted 427-1 to pass the bill and later the Senate approved it. Before the vote, there was a heated debate between the two parties in Parliament. Both parties accused each other of delaying public access to the documents. Speaker Mike Johnson defended Trump, saying, “The president has nothing to do with this and has nothing to hide.” The speaker supported making the document public, but criticized the Democrats for pushing it forward now.

Democrats were Epstein’s friends: Trump

The Trump administration had resisted for months the release of all Epstein documents, but last Sunday Trump said members of his party in the House of Representatives could vote for legislation to open the trove of files. Trump said, “This is the problem of the Democrats. He was Epstein’s friend. On the other hand, while targeting the Democrats on the social media platform Truth, the US President wrote, “Jeffrey Epstein (who was accused by the Trump Justice Department in 2019) has been a Democrat all his life. He donated thousands of dollars to Democratic leaders and was deeply connected to many prominent Democrats, including Bill Clinton (who flew on his plane 26 times), Larry Summers (who recently resigned from several boards, including Harvard), political activist Reid Hoffman, Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (who asked him to donate to his campaign after Epstein was accused), Democratic Congresswomen Stacey Plaskett and many more.”

the truth will come out soon

Trump said, “Perhaps the truth about these Democrats and their association with Jeffrey Epstein will be revealed soon, because I have just signed the bill to release Epstein’s files. As everyone knows, I asked House Speaker Mike Johnson and Senate Majority Leader John Thune to pass this bill in the House and Senate. At my request, the Department of Justice has already handed over fifty thousand pages of documents to Congress. Don’t forget, the Biden Administration did not hand over a single file or page related to Democrat Epstein, nor did they ever talk about him.

Democrats used the Epstein issue

The US President said that the Democrats have used the Epstein issue, which affects them more than the Republican Party. They did this to distract from our spectacular victories, including The Big Beautiful Bill, strong borders, no men in women’s sports or transgender for all, ending DEI, stopping Biden’s record setting inflation, lowering prices, the largest tax and regulation cuts in history, ending eight wars, rebuilding our military, dismantling Iran’s nuclear capability, investing trillions of dollars in the United States, and even That includes handing the Democrats a huge defeat on the recent shutdown.
