US President Donald Trump has given a big and controversial statement regarding South Africa. Trump wrote on Twitter that America did not participate in the G20 conference held in South Africa because the government there was not taking ‘the oppression of whites’ seriously.
Trump claims that Afrikaners and people of European origin are being attacked in South Africa and their lands are being taken away. He said that the South African government is not taking any action on this issue. Trump said that after the G20 conference, South Africa did not formally hand over the presidency of the G20 to a senior US Embassy official, even though he was present at the closing ceremony.
Trump warned South Africa
He warned that as per his instructions, South Africa will not be invited to the 2026 G20 summit to be held in Miami next year. Along with this, he also said that America will now immediately stop all the financial aid given to South Africa.
Trump also attacked American media
Trump also attacked the American media and said that the fake news media is silent on this entire issue and is not reporting on the alleged atrocities happening in South Africa. South Africa has not yet reacted to Trump’s statement, but it has already called the allegations of white genocide false. The government has been saying that land reforms take place only under the law.
America did not participate in the G20 conference
South Africa hosted the G20 Summit 2025 this year in Johannesburg, which was attended by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni, UK PM Keir Starmer, along with top leaders from Canada, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Netherlands, Jamaica and many other countries.
But this time America boycotted the conference. US President Donald Trump did not participate in the G20 and the US delegation also did not attend.
