Aditya Dhar’s film ‘Dhurandhar’ is making bumper earnings in theatres. The film was released on 5th December and since then it has become popular everywhere. While ‘Dhurandhar’ is being highly praised in the country including Australia, America and Malaysia, on the other hand Gulf countries have banned the entry of the film because of its story. However, similar treatment has been done to many Indian films before this also.

These 5 films did not get entry in Gulf countries

1. Tiger 3
This film of Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif was released in 2023. This movie, made under the banner of Yash Raj Films, was highly appreciated but the Gulf countries banned its entry. Describing this spy thriller film as negative, it was banned in a total of 6 countries including Oman, Kuwait and Qatar.

2. Kaathal – The Core
This is a romantic thriller film which will be released in 2023. It was directed by Jio Baby. While showing a romantic story, the angle of homosexuality was also shown in the film. 3. Gangs of Wasseypur
This film, directed by Anurag Kashyap, was released in 2012. Although the film failed to perform well at the Indian box office, it has become a cult classic among the audience. Many actors including Manoj Bajpayee, Pankaj Tripathi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui won everyone’s hearts with their excellent acting. But due to the film’s raw dialogues, intense action scenes and wild characters, Gulf Gulf declared it objectionable to the Muslim community.

In a scene of the movie, it is shown how the neighboring country captures the character of Karan Singh Grover and tortures him. For this reason it was banned in Gulf countries.

5. Article 370
This political drama of Yami Gautam was released on 23 February 2024. In this, it was shown about Article 370 and its effects in Kashmir. The story of the film was quite controversial and it was also based on true events. Yami Gautam surprised everyone with her powerful acting and the makers also presented the politics of Kashmir and the condition of the people there in front of the country. For this reason, no Gulf country allowed this movie to be released.
