Suryakumar Yadav Scored Half Century After 468 Days: The second match of the ongoing 5-match T20 series between India and New Zealand was played last night i.e. on 23 January. Finally, after a long wait, Suryakumar managed to return to form and played a match-winning innings. Suryakumar Yadav was the highest run scorer for Team India in this match. With this, he played a half-century innings in international cricket after a long wait of 468 days.

Suryakumar Yadav’s bat played very well in the second match against New Zealand. While chasing the big target of 209 runs, he scored unbeaten 82 runs on 37 balls. This innings of Surya included 9 fours and 4 sixes. With this he ended the drought of 23 innings, where he had not played any half-century innings. Surya made a great return to form and completed his 22nd T20 International half-century in just 23 balls.

Captain Suryakumar scored his last half-century in T20 International on 12 October 2024 against Bangladesh in Hyderabad, where he scored 75 runs in 35 balls. After this, his performance in the year 2025 was quite disappointing. In the entire year, he scored only 218 runs in 21 matches at an average of just 13.62.

Suryakumar Yadav equaled the world record

Suryakumar Yadav has now equaled Abhishek Sharma in terms of scoring a half-century in 25 or less balls in T20 International cricket. For the 8th time, Surya has completed his half-century in T20 International cricket in 25 or less balls, while this world record is in the name of Abhishek Sharma.
