The Indian cricket team is fully prepared for the T20 World Cup 2026. Before this big tournament, India has taken an unassailable 3-0 lead in the 5-match T20 series against New Zealand. Except the first match, the team won one-sidedly in both the other matches. Last Sunday, the team completed the target of 154 in just 10 overs. Abhishek Sharma is in great form, while captain Suryakumar Yadav has also returned in great form. Meanwhile, a big good news came for the team, Tilak Verma has become fit.
Tilak Verma is a part of T20 World Cup 2026, who is out of the team due to stomach problem. Although the team has explosive batsmen like Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, but the strength of the Indian team is that if the top order of the team flops, then the middle order batsmen play good innings keeping in mind the pace of runs. Hardik Pandya, Tilak Verma are such middle order batsmen.
Tilak Verma can play 5th T20
According to the report of Indian Express, Tilak Verma will be available in the fifth T20 against New Zealand to be held on January 31 in Thiruvananthapuram. Let us tell you that he had a stomach operation during the Vijay Hazare Trophy, after which the doctors asked him to take rest for 2 weeks. He is working hard to get fit in the Center of Excellence in Bengaluru. However, the team management does not want any haste in Tilak’s return, instead they want Tilak to be completely fit for the T20 World Cup 2026.

BCCI had earlier told that Tilak Verma has started physical training. Once his symptoms are completely cured and the wound healing process is satisfactory, he will gradually return to skill-based activities. BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia had said about him that he is out of the first 3 matches against New Zealand, the decision on his availability in the other 2 matches will be taken based on his progress in the training and skill phase.
