After this, in the year 2017, he was once again caught consuming alcohol while on duty. Considering this second incident to be extremely serious for aviation safety, the Civil Aviation Authority suspended him for three years.
Sumit Kapoor once again came into limelight after the accident.
Apart from this, later he was completely expelled from the service. After being removed from service, Captain Sumit Kapoor worked as a freelance pilot for some time. He was associated with VSR Ventures for the last five years. Now after his death in the plane crash in Baramati, his entire background is once again in the news.
