Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the country’s general budget in Parliament today (February 1, 2026). Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has reacted sarcastically on this.
SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav said, “What can be expected from the budget of a government which has no expectations. This budget is made for 1/20 people i.e. for 5 percent people.” Raising the issue of pollution in the country and in the capital Delhi, Akhilesh Yadav said, “This question has been raised on the world’s biggest platform that the air of your country is not good, due to which lives are being lost and investment is also not coming.”
Akhilesh Yadav taunted
Before going to Parliament, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav gave a sharp reaction regarding the General Budget 2026. According to him, there is no special expectation from the budget. He said, “There is no expectation from the BJP government, what is expected from their budget. Through the budget, BJP sets its people. A good budget is only that which brings prosperity to the poor.” Reminding the earlier promises of the Modi government, Akhilesh Yadav asked the question, “How many smart cities have been built. What is the promise of employment and doubling of farmers’ income?”
Raised the issue of urbanization and pollution
Taking aim at the BJP government, Akhilesh Yadav said that the government has not lived up to any promise. Could not provide clean drinking water to the people. How many people died after drinking water in Indore, even though Indore was a smart city. Raising the issue of pollution in the capital Delhi, he said – “This question has been raised on the world’s biggest platform that the air of your country is not good, due to which lives are being lost and investment is also not coming.” Akhilesh Yadav has shown through his statement what the attitude of the opposition is going to be.
