The India vs Pakistan match in the 2026 T20 World Cup is very close. Before that, the International Cricket Council (ICC) and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) tried to resolve this issue through talks. Pakistan had placed 4 big demands before ICC. According to sources, ICC has rejected all the demands of PCB.
ICC representatives had recently reached Pakistan, where Mohsin Naqvi-led PCB had placed 4 demands before the International Cricket Council, one of which was the resumption of the bilateral series with India. It is being told that the ICC delegation had accepted one of the four demands, but rejected the remaining three demands as beyond their jurisdiction.
What are those 4 demands?
First demand- The first demand from the PCB was that Pakistan team’s bilateral series with India should be reinstated. Pakistan talked about conducting India-Pak series at a neutral venue. No bilateral series has ever been played between India and Pakistan after 2012.
Second demand- Pakistan said that its share in ICC revenue should be increased to equal that of Australia and England. According to reports, at present PCB’s share in ICC revenue is around 5.75 percent.
Third demand- BCCI should end the no-handshake policy with Pakistan team. The Indian team has adopted a policy of not shaking hands with Pakistani players since Asia Cup 2025. The same was done by the women’s team also.
Fourth demand- Pakistan once again supported Bangladesh. He placed the demand before the ICC delegation that Bangladesh should be given full compensation despite being out of the 2026 T20 World Cup.
Let us remind you that despite assurance of security arrangements from ICC and BCCI, Bangladesh had refused to travel to India for T20 World Cup 2026. The result was that the ICC excluded Bangladesh from the T20 World Cup and replaced it with Scotland.
