The first BJP ruled government is going to be formed in West Bengal after independence. Shubhendu Adhikari has been elected leader in the legislature party meeting. After being elected leader of the legislative party, he stressed on running the new state administration on the basis of ‘collective leadership’. If any leader has increased his stature rapidly in the politics of West Bengal in the last few years, it is Shubhendu Adhikari. Today, he is not only the most prominent face of BJP in the state, but is also going to become the new Chief Minister of the state.

I will not run a new government: Shubhendu

Shubhendu Adhikari said, ‘I will not run a new government. Together we will run the new government. The meeting was chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and attended by the newly elected 2027 Bharatiya Janata Party MLAs, during which his name was unanimously chosen as the new leader of the BJP legislature party in the West Bengal Assembly and thus the next Chief Minister.

Political analysts believe that through this message of ‘collective leadership’, Adhikari has also given an indirect message that the new state cabinet led by him will not work like the previous cabinet, which was led by his predecessor Mamata Banerjee, because in Mamata’s cabinet, administrative decisions, whether small or big, could not be passed without her consent. In his speech, the officer also outlined the priorities of the new state cabinet.

Shubhendu told the priority of BJP government

He said that our priority will be to trace and take legal action against those involved in corruption and misuse of public funds, to provide justice to those who have been victims of grave injustice and atrocities in the last 15 years, and to ensure better and corruption-free public services.

Mamata Banerjee had created an atmosphere of fear: Amit Shah

Earlier, while addressing the gathering, the Union Home Minister reminded all the 207 elected MLAs of the party that they should ensure that the unwavering faith with which the people of West Bengal gave the Bharatiya Janata Party a massive victory in the recently concluded West Bengal elections, is not broken. He said that there was an atmosphere of fear during Mamata Banerjee’s rule, but despite this, I am grateful to the people of West Bengal that they trusted our leaders and gave us this victory.

He said that he wants to tell the party leaders to make every possible effort to fulfill the aspirations of the people who brought them to power. The Home Minister said, ‘Don’t let the trust be broken. This is the duty of all of you. We have to ensure that we give our best to the people of West Bengal.
