CNG Rate Today on May 29: Fuel prices were increased in India for the fourth time in ten days on Monday. The price of petrol was increased by Rs 2.61 per liter and that of diesel by Rs 2.71. Government oil marketing companies are increasing rates in installments to compensate for the continuous losses.
How much has the price of petrol and diesel increased?
With this, the retail price of petrol in Delhi has increased to Rs 102.12 per liter, while diesel is now at Rs 95.20. Similarly, the price of petrol in Kolkata has increased to Rs 113.51 per liter and diesel is at Rs 99.82.
The price of petrol in Mumbai increased to Rs 111.21 per liter, while diesel reached Rs 97.83.
In Chennai, petrol is being sold at Rs 107.77 and diesel at Rs 99.55 per litre. The price of petrol in Delhi has now crossed the Rs 100 mark. In many other metros it is touching the level of Rs 110 or even more. In Bengaluru and Hyderabad, prices have crossed Rs 110 and Rs 115 per liter respectively.
What is the government saying?
Here, the Central Government has said that there is no shortage of fuel in the country and India has enough reserves to deal with the current global crisis. Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has said that if retail prices are not changed from time to time, oil marketing companies may suffer huge losses if crude oil prices remain high for a long time.

How much has the price increased so far?
Recently, CNG prices were also increased across the country. In the month of May, within just 11-12 days, CNG prices were increased by Rs 6 per kilogram. Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) and other oil companies raised prices a total of four times sequentially this month.
15 May- Rs 2 per kg
17 May- Increase of Rs 1 per kg in Delhi
23 May- Again rate increase of Rs 1 per kg in Delhi-NCR.
26 May- Rs 2 per kg
However, even after the recent increase, CNG remains cheaper than petrol and diesel. CNG is about Rs 19 cheaper than petrol in Delhi. The price of petrol in Delhi is Rs 102.12 per liter. At the same time, the price of CNG is Rs 83.09 per kg. There is a direct difference of Rs 19.03 in prices. Same is the situation with diesel also. There is a difference of about Rs 12 in prices between them.
