There was a massive fire in the restaurant
A massive fire broke out in a restaurant located in Malviya Nagar on Wednesday morning. Many people were trapped inside the building at the time of the fire. After the incident, Delhi Fire Service, Delhi Police and other emergency agencies conducted a massive rescue operation.
More than 40 people were evacuated safely
According to South Delhi DCP Anant Mittal, during the relief and rescue operation, more than 40 people were safely evacuated and taken to the hospital. The fire has now been completely controlled.
PM Modi announced compensation
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also expressed grief over this accident. An assistance amount of Rs 2 lakh to each deceased and Rs 50 thousand to each injured has been announced from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF).
Amit Shah and Rekha Gupta also expressed grief
Union Home Minister Amit Shah described the incident as heartbreaking and expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured. Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that the government is constantly monitoring the situation and all possible assistance is being provided to all the affected people.
