There is big news for the candidates who are dreaming of becoming Assistant Professor in Bihar. Bihar State University Service Commission (BSUSC) has started the application process for recruitment to 3,687 Assistant Professor posts in various universities. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online within the prescribed time limit. According to the Commission, the last date for application has been fixed as July 15, 2026.
This recruitment is being done with the aim of meeting the shortage of teachers in various universities and affiliated colleges of the state. Candidates will be selected on the basis of academic achievements and interview. After completion of the selection process, merit list will be released and successful candidates will be given appointment in universities.
How many total posts will be filled?
Through this recruitment drive, eligible candidates will be appointed to a total of 3,687 Assistant Professor posts. The distribution of posts according to different subjects is available in the official notification issued by the Commission.
Eligibility to apply
Under educational qualification, it is mandatory for the candidate to have a Post Graduation degree in a related subject from a recognized university with at least 55 percent marks. Apart from this, the candidate is also required to pass UGC-NET or CSIR-NET examination.
The minimum age of the candidate has been fixed at 21 years and maximum age at 43 years.
selection process
There is no provision for any written examination in this recruitment. Candidates will be selected on the basis of academic performance and interview. The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in both the stages.
The Commission will issue the admit card for attending the interview before the scheduled time. Candidates have been advised to keep checking the official website and portal for updates from time to time.

Candidates will have to apply through online medium. Applications will be accepted only through Samarth portal. Before filling the application form, candidates should keep all the necessary documents, educational certificates and other important information ready. After submitting the application, keep its printout.
These are the important dates
Applications for the recruitment process have started from 3 July 2026. The last date for submission of applications is 15 July 2026. After this, walk-in interviews will be conducted between 20 to 27 July 2026. The Commission will release the merit list on 29 July 2026. The final allotment will be made on 1 August 2026, while the appointment of selected candidates will start from 7 August 2026.
