Asad Alam Siam has been the Ambassador of Bangladesh to the US from November 2024 to June 2025. Along with this, he has also represented Dhaka in the World Bank and IMF. Apart from this, Siam has also served as ambassador to Austria and Philippines. Apart from all this, he has also raised the voice of Dhaka at global forums like UN’s Vienna Office, OPEC Fund, International Atomic Energy Agency and Asian Development Bank.

According to the report of Prothom Alo, after Asad Alam Siam comes to India, Salahuddin Noman Chaudhary will be the new Foreign Secretary of Bangladesh in his place. Currently, he is the Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the United Nations in New York and has also been the Ambassador to Nepal. The current High Commissioner to India, Riyaz Hamidullah, is being sent to Geneva, where he will be the permanent representative of Dhaka.
