In fact, in the year 2012, it came to the headlines that while filming the wedding scene for the force, a priest accidentally completed the real wedding rituals of John and Genelia. Pandit, Bhagwat Guruji even insisted that both of them were married because they had unknowingly recited all the mantras on the set and completed all the rituals of a real wedding with Mala, Mangalsutra and seven rounds. Now in a latest interview given to Siddharth Kannan, Genelia broke her silence and clear that no such marriage took place.
Genelia said, “There was no truth in this. We did not marry. These stories were spread by PR, and I think you should ask them why they did this.” He cleared that all this was a publicity stunt and he or John had no role in it.
What did the producer Vipul Shah say?
Producer Vipul Shah said that he had planned to take an actor as a original priest, but director Nishikant Kamat insisted on bringing a real priest for authenticity. He said, “This is the price of love for my director’s realism. How would we know that the priest will claim later that he got a real marriage?” Vipul said that Genelia is Christian, so Hindu marriage rituals would not apply to them, they also rejected that the whole matter was a publicity stunt.
He said, “Why would I do this for publicity? If this was my purpose, I could easily include a Hindu organization myself. I also refused many news channels that wanted to run a special feature on this so -called wedding.”

Talking about Genelia’s work front, the actress will soon be seen in the Aamir Khan starrer film Zameen Par. This film is based on Divyang. The film will be released in theaters on June 20.
