The floods due to heavy rains and cloudburst in Uttarakhand’s capital Dehradun have taken a terrible form. The rains, which has been in late Monday night, brought the Tons River in spate. NDRF saved a child trapped in the Swarna River in Premnagar, whose video is going viral.

A tractor was trapped in the middle of the river. In the viral video, about 10 laborers on the tractor were shouting for help, but suddenly the strong current overturned the tractor and all were swept away. According to reports, at least 6 laborers have died. These laborers were engaged in mining work.

This operation was carried out on Monday, when the water level of the river was very high. The NDRF team provided first aid to the child and brought him to a safe place. Dreaded incident captured in video

According to the NDTV report, the video is seen trapped in the middle of the river in the video, where the workers were pleading for help. Suddenly the rapid flow of the river increased and the tractor reversed, causing everyone to flow. This incident took place near Law College in Prem Nagar. The rescue teams reached the spot, but the flow was so fast that immediate action became difficult. Local people said that the workers were already warned, but they were trapped.

Rescue work and loss data

About 400 people have been taken to a safe place from flood affected areas. Local police teams are engaged in rescue operation with NDRF, SDRF. IT park in Dehradun was submerged, while many houses and shops were destroyed due to cloudburst in Sahasradhara area. Roads are broken at 25-30 places, approach roads have been cut, and government properties have suffered heavy losses. A bridge in the goods deity collapsed, and many areas drowned due to the boom of the Tons River. No official death has been confirmed, but the news of 6 laborers flowing has stirred up.

Chief Minister Dhami’s response

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that all the rivers in Uttarakhand are in spate. The roads are broken due to heavy rains, houses and government properties have been damaged. Normal life is affected. He informed that the administration, NDRF, SDRF, police and local officials are in alert mode.

The CM apprised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah about the situation, who assured all possible help from the Center. Dhami has promised to stand with the affected families. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of more rain in the next 24 hours.
