Cardamom is called the queen of our spices. Whether it is tea, sweets or special dish, the scent of cardamom makes every dish wonderful. People usually buy cardamom from the market, but do you know that you can grow it at your home too? The cardamom plant grows well in moist and cool place. Keeping it directly in the sun can be harmful. If you are putting it in the house, then try to stay in a place where light sunlight is found in the morning or evening and moisture remains throughout the day. The kitchen garden or home balcony can be the perfect place for this work.
Potato and soil preparation
To apply cardamom, first choose the pot. The pot should be at least 12 to 14 inches deep so that the roots can spread easily. The soil should be light, fertile and moist. You can prepare the pot by mixing cow dung and some sand in the garden soil. This will keep moisture in the soil and the plant will also get nutrition.
Plant
To grow cardamom, you can either use seeds directly or you can buy a nursery planned plant. If you want to plant a plant with seeds, then dry cardamom seeds in light sunlight and sow it in a pot. Keep in mind that do not put the seeds at a depth more than the soil surface. After sowing the seeds, add light water and keep the pot in the shade.
Water and moisture attention
The cardamom plant prefers moisture, but more water can cause the problem of rotting root in it. Always keep the pot of pot lightly. Give light water daily in summer and add water at intervals of two to three days in winter. It is also good to spray water from time to time on the leaves of the plant.
Compost and care
Cardamom plant requires organic manure to grow and stay healthy. Mix cow dung manure or compost in the plant every month. This will increase the plant quickly and will remain green. Do not allow grass to freeze around the plant and remove dry leaves of the plant from time to time.
