US President Donald Trump’s pain over not receiving the Nobel Peace Prize is coming out intermittently. Now he has cornered former President Barack Obama. Trump has accused Obama of doing nothing and ruining our country. Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump touted his accomplishments in making peace in Gaza and ending eight wars. Also claimed that he did not do this for any reward.
‘Obama has done nothing but ruin America’
Just hours before the award was announced, Trump complained that Obama had received the Nobel only a few months into his presidency. Trump said, “They got this award for doing nothing. Obama got an award, he didn’t even know he was elected and they gave it to Obama for doing nothing but ruining our country.”
Donald Trump further said that Obama had received this prestigious award in 2009, when he had completed only eight months of his first term and many people were surprised by this step. The New York Times reported that this was too early and argued that the standards for the Nobel should be higher.

“They gave it to Obama for no other purpose than to destroy our country,” Trump told reporters after finalizing a historic US-brokered peace deal between Israel and Hamas. He further said, “I have stopped eight wars and this has never happened before, but they have to keep doing what they are doing. Whatever they do is fine. I know that I did it not just for the sake of it, but because I saved a lot of lives.”
