‘This should not happen to anyone, I will not stay in Bengal now’, Durgapur rape victim’s father expressed his pain, appealed to CM Mamata


The incident of alleged gang rape of a student in a private medical college in Durgapur, West Bengal has shocked the entire state. While talking to the media, the victim’s father demanded justice for his daughter and said that he does not want such an incident to happen to any other daughter.

The victim’s father said, ‘I had brought my daughter to Bengal with great expectations so that she could become a doctor and fulfill her dreams. Whatever happened is unbearable for any father. Now I have decided that I will leave Bengal. He also said that he wants to give the harshest punishment to the accused so that no one else can do the same.

Appealed to Mamta Banerjee
Addressing Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, the victim’s father said, ‘Forgive me if I have said something wrong. I’m your son. I just want that no other daughter of the country has to suffer such torture. Justice should be provided to my daughter as soon as possible. When the victim’s father was asked about the CBI investigation, he said that it depends on the state government, but their only aim is to ensure that justice is delivered quickly and strictly.

The victim’s friend was also arrested
The court of West Bardhaman district of the state sent the victim’s friend to police custody for seven days. This student is a second year student from Odisha. The incident took place outside the private medical college campus in Durgapur on Friday night, when she had gone for dinner with her friend. Six accused have been arrested in this case. Five accused are already in police custody. The victim’s parents had lodged an FIR at New Township police station after the incident.
