Amidst the renewed war between America and Iran, relief news is coming to the world from the Strait of Hormuz, which is indicating the global oil crisis is subsiding. Iran’s state TV has announced that 24-hour transit services will be provided to increase shipping traffic in Hormuz. After Iran’s decision, now the movement of oil and other ships through this sea route will be possible without any stoppage day and night. Due to this, it is expected that the supply of crude oil in the international market will improve and prices will become stable.
Trump accused Iran of prolonging the talks
There is still uncertainty regarding the ongoing talks between America and Iran. US President Donald Trump said that he is not particularly worried that Iran may stop the ongoing talks with America. He said that Iran has taken too much time in negotiations and the biggest priority of the Trump administration is to prevent it from acquiring nuclear weapons.
Trump rejected the suggestion that there would be any major change in his strategy if talks break down. This statement came at a time when the oil markets witnessed a sharp reaction after the news that Iran is no longer ready to continue talks. When asked whether negotiations with Iran were over, Trump said, ‘Frankly, I don’t care whether the negotiations are over or not. I don’t care at all. If it’s over, it’s over. If it hasn’t happened, I think they took too much time. To be honest, this conversation was beginning to seem quite boring.
Petrol and diesel became costlier by about Rs 7.5 in the last one month.
The effect of America-Iran war is also being seen on the common people of the country. Due to this, in the last one month, the price of petrol has increased by Rs 7.35 per liter and the price of diesel has increased by Rs 7.53 per liter. During this period, the fuel prices were increased four times by the Central Government on 15, 19, 23 and 25 May, due to which the price of petrol in New Delhi has increased by Rs 7.35 from Rs 94.77 per liter to Rs 102.12 per liter.
The price of petrol was increased by Rs 3 per liter on May 15, by Rs 0.87 per liter on May 19, by Rs 0.87 per liter on May 23 and by Rs 2.61 per liter on May 25. Last month, diesel prices were also increased four times, due to which the price of diesel in New Delhi increased by Rs 7.53 from Rs 87.67 per liter to Rs 95.20 per liter. The price of diesel was increased by Rs 3 per liter on May 15, by Rs 0.91 per liter on May 19, by Rs 0.91 per liter on May 23 and by Rs 2.71 per liter on May 25.
Prices of commercial LPG cylinders also increased
During this period, an increase in the prices of commercial LPG cylinders has also been seen. Due to the war, the price of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder in New Delhi has increased to Rs 3,113.50. On June 1, the price of commercial LPD cylinder was increased by Rs 42. Including the increase in June, the price of commercial LPG cylinder has increased by more than Rs 1,400 in the last five months.
