Center for Peace and Progress had written an open letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Pakistan PM Shahbaz Sharif regarding improving relations between India and Pakistan, resuming mutual contacts and restoring diplomatic relations. After the letter came out, BJP spokesperson Prem Shukla has reacted on it. He bluntly said that till then Pakistan will continue to support terrorists, there will be no talks.
On writing a letter on behalf of some citizens of India and Pakistan, BJP spokesperson Prem Shukla said, ‘Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already made it clear that there will be no talks as long as Pakistan continues to provide shelter to terrorists.’ He further said, ‘These people’s love for Pakistan keeps awakening every now and then. He has a habit of flying peace pigeons.
‘Pakistan should first stop supporting terrorists’
On the statement of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh officials about ‘dialogue with Pakistan’, Prem Shukla clearly said, ‘If Pakistan stops supporting terrorists, talks will start.’ Recently, RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale had said that India should not completely close the doors of dialogue with Pakistan. However, he also added that there should be no leniency in the tough stance towards terrorism.

117 prominent people of India and Pakistan wrote open letter
117 prominent people of India and Pakistan have signed the letter under the Joint Peace Proposal, demanding restoration of full diplomatic relations between India and Pakistan and resumption of people-to-people contacts. It includes 61 signatories from India including Farooq Abdullah, Mirwaiz Omar Farooq, Mehbooba Mufti, Manoj Jha and Humayun Kabir. The leaders have signed the digital format.
