Parimal Nathwani had sought support from all parties
After filing nomination for Jharkhand Rajya Sabha elections, independent candidate Parimal Nathwani appealed to all the parties to support him. During this, Parimal said that he has good relations with the leaders of all political parties.
What did BJP say on supporting Parimal Nathwani?
On supporting Parimal Nathwani for Rajya Sabha, BJP leader Pratul Shahdev said, “BJP tried till the last moment to field a candidate from its own party in Jharkhand, but we definitely did not have the numbers. We have 21 MLAs, whereas we need 28. Even including the alliance partners, this number would have reached only 24. We tried our best, but when the circumstances were not in our favour, we decided to support Parimal Nathwani.”
The BJP leader said that Parimal is an independent candidate, who has been a Rajya Sabha member twice before and his work record has been very good. Parimal Nathwani asked us for support from BJP and the party supported him.
Congress’s reaction on Parimal Nathwani
Former Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand Congress observer Bhupesh Baghel reacted to the Rajya Sabha elections and the nomination of Parimal Nathwani. He said that the strategy of Congress regarding Rajya Sabha in Jharkhand is firm. The grand alliance of Congress-JMM is united. Only we will win.
Regarding Parimal Nathwani, Bhupesh Baghel said, “BJP has supported the money animal. We have a government in Jharkhand, there will be no horse trading there. There is no need to shift the MLAs.”
