Amidst IPL 2026, Punjab Kings fast bowler Arshdeep Singh is once again embroiled in controversies. Arshdeep, who is active on social media, came into limelight this time due to his conversation with a fan on Snapchat. After the viral screenshot, a debate has erupted on the internet and fans are continuously giving their reactions. In fact, while messaging Arshdeep Singh, a fan wrote, “Stop using the name of PBKS, you are insulting the team.” After this, Arshdeep’s answer quickly went viral on social media.
Although many people considered it funny, a large number of users called it irresponsible behavior. This controversy has come to light at a time when Arshdeep was already facing criticism for allegedly calling Tilak Verma “dark”. There was a lot of anger on social media over his words in the video recorded before the match against Mumbai Indians.
Social media activity has become a problem before too
Along with cricket, Arshdeep Singh is also very popular for his social media presence. He often shares vlogs and funny videos with fellow players. But in recent times, this very activity of his seems to be becoming the cause of controversies. According to reports, BCCI had also advised him to be careful about vlogging. It was told that the board was not happy with the players sharing videos related to dressing room and travel.

“Arshdeep should be banned…”
Former Indian spinner Laxman Sivaramakrishnan also reacted sharply on this matter. Posting on X, he wrote, “Arshdeep should be banned this season and he should be paid on prorata basis.” He further said, “Players should be hit where it matters most. I know I will be trolled again for this.” His statement also quickly went viral on social media, where some people supported him while many fans called it an excessively harsh stance.

Mumbai Indians shine on the field
Amidst the controversies, Punjab Kings had to face defeat in a close match against Mumbai Indians. In this high scoring match played in Dharamshala, Punjab batted first and scored 200 runs. Prabhsimran Singh and Azmatullah Umarzai played important innings for the team. However, in reply, Mumbai Indians achieved the target thanks to Tilak Verma’s brilliant unbeaten inning of 75 runs. Mumbai won the match by losing four wickets with one ball remaining.
