Home Minister Cabello appeals to people to stay in safe places
KSN quoted Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello as saying that earthquake tremors were felt in many states. He said that the situation has become worrying due to the collapse of houses and buildings in the Altamira area of Caracas. He appealed to the people to stay in a safe place, because the aftershocks of the earthquake may cause further damage to some buildings. He said that we are busy helping the needy people.
According to the US Geological Survey, the intensity of the first earthquake was 7.1 and its epicenter was west of the Moron settlement located on the Caribbean coast. Its distance from Caracas is about 168 kilometers. Its depth was 13 kilometers. At the same time, the intensity of the second earthquake was measured at 7.5 magnitude. Its center was 16 kilometers south-west of Moron. The depth of the second earthquake was 10 kilometers. It is being told that this earthquake is one of the most powerful earthquake to occur in the last century.
