The discovery of the dead body of emerging para athlete Chirag Tyagi in Ghaziabad has created a sensation in the sports world and the region. Chirag’s body was found under suspicious circumstances in Sai Upvan of the city. Initial investigation is suspecting murder, because two serious wounds have been found on his body which could be due to bullet injury or attack with a sharp weapon. Wounds have been found in the waist and armpits. The actual nature of these injuries will be revealed only after the post mortem report comes.
Chirag had recently won a gold medal in the national competition.
Chirag Tyagi was a resident of Basantpur Senthali village of Muradnagar police station area of Ghaziabad. He was the only child of his parents and was quickly gaining recognition as a rising player in para athletics. Chirag lived in Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi, where he got training and accommodation facilities. He recently won the gold medal in 400 meter race in the national competition held in Bengaluru. Not only this, he also qualified for the Asian Games to be held in Japan in October.

Family members say, Chirag has no enmity with anyone
Chirag’s father Manoj Tyagi had spent his savings and even sold his land to make his son a successful athlete. Family members say that Chirag or the family had no enmity with anyone, hence this incident has shocked everyone.
DCP City Dhawal Jaiswal said that the possibility of murder cannot be ruled out in the case. Police have detained a suspect on the basis of examining CCTV footage. The body has been sent for post-mortem and several police teams are engaged in investigation to unravel the matter.
