While talking to the media in Patna, Giriraj Singh said, “God forbid that an anti-national, Maoist, Muslim Congress leader like Rahul Gandhi should lead the India alliance… What do we have to do with it? Whether Mamata Banerjee leads it (India alliance) or Tejashwi Yadav, what does it have to do with it? The people of the country have rejected those with negative thoughts.”

What did Giriraj Singh say on SIR?
On the other hand, Giriraj Singh also reacted to the decision taken by the Supreme Court on SIR last Wednesday (May 27, 2026). He attacked the opposition. On the Supreme Court’s decision regarding SIR, the Union Minister said, “The court has also recognized… the opposition people who were creating ruckus on SIR… Whatever happened in SIR is a continuous process… These (opposition) people want to blame their defeat on SIR.”
Congress hit back at Giriraj Singh
Bihar Congress spokesperson Dr. Snehashish Vardhan has hit back at Giriraj Singh. He said, “Giriraj Singh maintains silence on the atrocities committed on the daughters of Bihar and by making such wild statements, he tries to show himself alive in the Modi government. He is a minister at the Centre… He neither says anything nor demands action on the death of Bihar’s daughter Deeksha Dubey in NIT Kurukshetra, even though the government there is his.”
He further said, “The daughter of Begusarai is molested in the presence of her father in Patna and they remain silent. The NEET student of Jehanabad dies under gruesome and suspicious circumstances in Patna, but they dare to speak even a single word. To hide their shortcomings, these people do their politics by making statements against our leader Rahul Gandhi.”
