David Dhawan’s films have a special template, a special style, they have a special kind of entertainment, this film is the kind of film where you have to keep your mind in the fridge and have fun for 2 hours. David Dhawan can neither make a film like Rajamouli nor like Vanga and neither of them can make a film like David Dhawan, so expect the same from that film as should be expected from David Dhawan’s film.
Story
Jas and Bani i.e. Varun and Mrinal are married, Jas wants a child and Bani wants a divorce. Both their cases go to the court and both get separated but there is no divorce yet. Then Jas meets Preet i.e. Pooja Hegde whose brother Jimmy Shergill is powerful. Then something happens that both Bani and Preet become pregnant. Now go to the theater to see what will happen if you like comedy of errors.
how is the movie
This film is like David Dhawan’s films, it is mindless fun and has good comedy. London has good locations, actors wearing good costumes, good music. The film is about 2 hours 10 minutes long so it doesn’t drag. There has always been a special audience for such films, who want to pass good time through films. This film has been made for that audience. The teaser was quite bad, but the trailer told David Dhawan what he was going to do and he did the same. So if you liked the trailer of this film then watch it. This is a snacker film, so do not have any expectations here that you will see something which was not seen in the cinema. This is a typical David Dhawan film, if you go with this in mind, you will enjoy. The story is built in the first half, and when the scenes of confusion between Jas’s two wives occur in the second half, it is a lot of fun. The second half could have been shortened a bit and if it had been so, the film would have been more paced. The supporting cast has made the film quite entertaining.
acting
Varun Dhawan has done a good job, his comic punches look funny, he also looks very handsome and fit. Mrunal Thakur’s work is fine, Pooja Hegde has done a good job. Manish Paul is funny. Jimmy Shergill looks great. Rajesh Kumar’s work with him is good, Rakesh Bedi looks funny. Mouni Roy’s character is shocking and funny. Chunky Pandey is great. Ayesha Raza Mishra is looking good. All the other actors also do their work well. Many characters are over the top but his character still looks funny.
writing
Yunus Sajawal has written the story, the writing is fine, more comic punch could have been added. David Dhawan’s direction is good, his signature style is visible.
Overall, if you like David Dhawan’s films then watch it.
