The constitutional amendment bill related to women’s reservation failed when the government did not get two-thirds majority in the Lok Sabha. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said that during the division of votes on considering this bill, 298 votes were cast in favor and 230 against. Meanwhile, the round of reactions continues.
Iqbal Ansari, who was a supporter of Babri Masjid in Ayodhya, has reacted. He said that women of all religions are respected in our country. Women are useful everywhere. At some places they serve as daughters, mothers and sisters. Every person thinks that women should be respected.
Opposition did not allow women’s reservation to be passed – Iqbal Ansari
Iqbal Ansari said that the government had taken steps for women, but the opposition did not allow it to be passed. This is unfortunate. I believe that women should get equal respect. He further said that all the parties should think about every good work. What is good should be done. He said that women should be respected. Women are useful at every place of need.
He further said that women should get equal share everywhere in job or reservation. This is what we believe and society also says this. So it should be. He said that the bill should have been passed, but it was unfortunate that it was not passed. Respect of women is important.
The bill was brought regarding 33 percent reservation for women
During the special session in the House, an amendment bill was brought to give 33 percent reservation to women. Which has been dropped by the opposition. After this, the ruling party has opened a front against the opposition. Speaker Om Birla said that now it is not possible to decide on further action on this bill, because this bill has fallen at the level of being presented for consideration.
